THE LANDSCAPE

We rely on the earth for the products we use in our work, and we recognize these resources are limited. More importantly, they are not just products. Wood and other natural materials are a part of a larger system that is home to plants and animals, and that play a critical role in our mutual survival, and in the quality of life we all share.

These products are often harvested without regard to the impact, processed in ways that further harm the environment, and can damage the health of people and animals in the homes where they are used.

At Terrafirma, we work stringently to protect our planet and its inhabitants. Our wood comes from managed forests, using renewable trees. Other building materials are recycled, non-toxic and are processed cleanly. All without sacrificing durability, quality and beauty.

We are members of the PGE Earth Advantage program, and recipients of the G rating award from the City of Portland's Office of Sustainability. We also belong to NW Eco Building Guild. Our "green" work has been featured on television news programs, and in newspapers.

We are happy to discuss our commitment to green building in more specific ways at any time. But what it comes down to is this: our green philosophy isn't today's fad to Terrafirma. It's our passion, and it's the promise of a bountiful future.

THE BLUEPRINT

We're Terrafirma, a company that develops and builds fine new residences and commercial buildings.

David Hassin, Terrafirma's president, founded the company in 1990, bringing to it 25 years' experience in the building industry. He is supported by Terrafirma's ambassadors: experienced office and field staff, who share the company vision.

Our home is Portland Oregon, a city with a history of beautiful architecture. Our purpose is to continue that history: to craft buildings that leave clients and neighborhoods absolutely delighted with the finished product, and that contribute new beauty to the region's esthetic.

THE FOUNDATION
Terrafirma Building is based on three values: Honesty and integrity in all aspects of our company; responsibility to the client and the community in which we live and do business; and lasting relationships. That means:
• We deliver on our promises;
• We are 100% accountable for all aspects of our work;
• We're in the business for long-term success, not short-term profit.

Our business ethic starts with David and extends to our employees, the people whose services we use on our projects, and the people who use Terrafirma.

THE FRAMEWORK

Terrafirma Building's reputation for excellence is supported by three areas of expertise: Traditional craftsmanship; technical expertise; and consistent, concise communication. That means:
• Old-world craftsmanship: highly skilled employees and subcontractors, using fine materials to realize each client's dream;
• Modern technology: fast access to all the information the Internet has to offer to serve our clients, and the latest computer software customized for each project's needs;
• Ongoing, direct contact: first and foremost, with David, and supported by daily logs, project schedules, weekly or bi-monthly project meetings, clarification requests, email, and complete photo documentation of every project.

Whether a small new home, a complete residential development, or a new commercial complex, all of Terrafirma's projects receive our full attention, and the benefit of our experience.

THE COMPLETED PROJECT

Terrafirma Building: A company dedicated to developing and building for satisfied clients, in neighborhoods made all the more livable for Terrafirma's work.

We've been doing it since 1990, and we'll be doing it for many more years to come.

But don't take our word for it: Testimonials is where you'll find clients' opinions of our work, and stories on Terrafirma homes can be found in Articles. Visit Projects for photographs of our past and current homes.

We also hope you'll spend a moment with our Friends, to learn more about special colleagues and the charities we support.

We're glad you stopped by--thanks. If you'd like more information, give us a call, or drop us an email. We'd be delighted to hear from you, and pleased to be of service.
